Find out how to enable the disallowed content checking on the WordPress website with the JetReviews plugin.
Before you start, check the tutorial requirements:
- JetReviews plugin installed and activated with reviews added to posts
With the JetReviews plugin, you can enable content checking to automatically mark reviews or comments containing disallowed words as unapproved. Such content will be hidden on the frontend and visible only in the backend for moderation.
Navigate to the WordPress Dashboard > Crocoblock > JetPlugins Settings > JetReviews > Advanced path and toggle on the Enable disallowed content checking option.
In the activated Disallowed words bar, enter the required keywords. If reviews and comments contain such words, they will be checked as unapproved automatically. Separate keywords with commas.
Also, you can proceed to WordPress Dashboard > JetReviews > Review Types, open the required type, and turn off the New review approval option from the Advanced Settings section, so that only reviews with disallowed words will need the admin approval.
Then, you can go to the frontend and leave a simple post/product/user review.
Hit the “Submit a review” button, and the review will appear immediately without admin approval.
Then we write a comment with the “hello world” phrase. Since these words are disallowed in our settings, the “Your comment must be approved by the moderator” notification appeared after the comment submission.
Then, move to the WordPress Dashboard > JetReviews > Comments tab. Here, the comment with the disallowed words stays unapproved.
Reviews containing disallowed words will also be unapproved on the frontend and backend.
That’s all. Now you know how to enable the disallowed content checking on the WordPress website with the JetReviews plugin.
